The Chasing Einstein Challenge is a 9-week activity for 3rd-12th grade students designed to help them become creative and persistent problem solvers. The Chasing Einstein Challenge focuses on building a math mindset by having students work on unique math challenges, interacting with math mentors, and reflecting on their learning.

Dr. Kevin Smith created the Chasing Einstein Challenge in the Fall of 2017 as a way to introduce his K-8 Math Methods students to gamification and the Standards for Mathematical Practice. The game has evolved since that time.
